Abstract
Viral folliculitis is not a common clinical presentation of molluscum contagiosum. Most cases of folliculitis due to molluscum contagiosum develop in patients with human immunodeficiency virus infection. A 69-year-old woman presented with two skin-colored papules on her back and thigh which had occurred several months before. Biopsy of the lesions revealed multiple molluscum bodies in the ruptured follicular epithelium, with some inflammatory cells. We herein describe a patient with molluscum folliculitis, but no evidence of human immunodeficiency virus infection.
