Abstract
KQ 7.1 and KQ 7.2 This chapter discusses various treatment options for laryngeal cancer, emphasizing organ preservation surgery as an alternative to total laryngectomy. Different organ preservation surgeries are detailed, including their potential complications. The importance of assessing and preventing pulmonary complications after surgery and controversies regarding the use of pulmonary function tests are highlighted. The chapter also explores the application of supracricoid partial laryngectomy (SCPL) in recurrent laryngeal cancer after radiotherapy and its success rates. Additionally, the complications of laryngeal stenosis and pharyngoesophageal stricture are addressed. The chapter concludes with insights into the management of pexy rupture following horizontal partial laryngectomy, detailing the diagnosis and treatment of this infrequent complication.
