Abstract
BACKGROUND: Postpartum bleeding from the inferior epigastric artery after cesarean delivery occurs rarely, but it can be fatal if it is not diagnosed promptly. CASES: We report 3 cases of incidental inferior epigastric arterial hemorrhage that led to active bleeding, requiring massive blood transfusion and a long period of hospitalization. CONCLUSION: We found that selective transcatheter arterial embolization not only improved the recognition of the active bleeding source, which can be clinically overlooked, but also provided successful treatment for the bleeding.
