Abstract
Endoscopic spine surgery minimizes the normal tissue injury of the spine and removes pathologic lesions. It reduces the recovery time after spine surgery. Recently, the development of variable devices and techniques accelerates endoscopic spine surgery. The different nomenclature systems from variable procedures are used in the published paper. It leads to confusion between the associated people. In this chapter, we introduce the nomenclature system suggested by the AOSpine minimally invasive spine surgery curriculum task force (MISTFT). In this system, the nomenclature method under the same principle is integrated into a systematic nomenclature system: (1) Approach corridor; (2) mode of visualization; (3) spinal segment and; (4) type of procedure. The suggested name of the procedure was verified from the reference paper, and the rationale was described. In the time when this is written now, the new procedure is developed and introduced. We hope that this simple and expandable nomenclature system will be widespread and be quoted into the associated field.
