Abstract
In summary, the diagnosis of polymyositis (or dermaomyositis) must be considered in any patient with recurrent and non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis-induced ARF. Scrupulous attention to renal function and aggressive use of immunotheraphy are mandatory to preven acute renal failure and morbidity in these patients.
