Abstract
We conducted a case-control association study between the -G308A tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α gene polymorphism and 89 patients with bipolar I disorder (BID). A polymerase chain reaction method was used. We found significant differences in genotype and allele distribution. The -G308A TNF-α gene polymorphism may confer a risk for BID in the Korean population.
